Why is archive of our own still in beta?
Just speaking for the Archive, it means we're still actively developing the site and changing things around a lot. There are many, many bugs yet to squash and many, many things still to improve, and a lot of feedback from our users to consider.
Why can’t I get an AO3 account?
Why can't I create an account without an invitation? We're using the invitation system so that Archive of Our Own ( AO3 ) can grow in a controlled manner. We need to add new users gradually so that our account numbers don't grow beyond what our hardware, bandwidth, and Support team can cope with. Readers, when commenting, you can be the reason a fic is removed, *especially* if it’s victim to the vindictive, jealousy-based troll-reporting happening.
Do AO3 accounts expire?
If you don't verify your account within 14 days of setting it up, your registration will expire and you'll need to go through the account creation process again. For more information on invitations, please check out the Invitations FAQ.
